Zurich, the lively city by the Alps

Zurich is famous for its diverse nightlife. Start the evening with your friends or business partners over a nice glass of red wine and fine cuisine at the floating bistro Pier 7 or at Les Halles, which features an organic market. Afterwards, you can enjoy a sociable cocktail in the Labor Bar Lounge. Or you can visit the alternative culture centre, Rote Fabrik. We will be happy to give you insider tips and help you find the place best suited to your personal taste.

Discover jazz clubs such as Moods, which hosts live performances by the big names of the jazz world. Or spend the night on the dance floor of the legendary Mascotte. A night out at Kaufleuten, one of Europe's Top Ten Locations, is also highly recommended.

Of course, Zurich also has plenty to offer during the day, above all relaxation! Where else can you bathe in clean river and lake water in the middle of a major city? You can choose from more than 25 public baths, from the women-only Frauenbad at the Stadthausquai to the Seebad Enge resort or the Schanzengraben and Oberer Letten lidos. Zurich has the highest concentration of public baths in the world. By the way: At twilight, many of these public baths transform into stylish bars and lounges with cultural programmes - the perfect meeting places for those warm summer nights.

The Arboretum, a small park on Lake Zurich, is especially worth a visit. It boasts a superb collection of tree species from all over the world.

Zurich is also famous for its street festivals. Perhaps the most traditional Zurich festival, the Sechseläuten in April ushers in the warm season. A colourful procession of 3500 guild members in historical dress, 350 horsemen and 50 horse-drawn carriages makes its way through the city. The highlight: A symbolic snowman is burned at the stroke of six o'clock in the evening. Flowers and jolly faces characterise the atmosphere at this spring festival.

Zurich's top events in the summer include the Street Parade, the most colourful techno party in the world, and the Zurich Festival at the Opera House, a unique combination of opera, concerts, acting, dance and theatre. Fall under the spell of the festival atmosphere. You will understand why people talk about a high quality of living in Zurich.

Whether you're travelling for business or leisure. Zurich offers plenty of diversity for you, your colleagues and your family. Just do whatever it is that you would like to do.
